Richard Kuntze is a 1972 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Southeast Missouri State University, graduating magna cum laude in 1976. He earned his law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 1979.      Prior to opening the Law Office of Richard Kuntze, Rick was a partner in the firm of Oliver, Oliver, Waltz, and Cook, and a founding partner of the firm of Osburn, Hine, Kuntze, and Yates, both law firms in Cape Girardeau.    

     Rick has extensive experience across the state in the prosecution and defense of suits dealing with products liability, medical, engineering, and architectural negligence, general casualty loss, and insurance coverage issues. He also maintains a limited criminal defense practice for select clients. Rick has been a frequent speaker at legal education seminars dealing with trial practice, evidentiary issues, products liability, and medical negligence.    

     Rick represents local and regional business entities in their legal affairs, including business planning and organization, mergers and acquisitions, transportation and logistics, telecommunications, regulatory matters, employment and labor issues, and workers compensation. He provides local representation for companies of national scope. Representative clients for whom Rick has performed legal services include Kinder Morgan Power Company, Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, Ford Motor Company, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, Union Electric Company (Amerin UE), Kies Eye Center, Jerry Lipps Trucking, DL Transport, DL Logistics, Long Distance Discount, Hartford Insurance Company, Travelers Insurance Company, and Southeast Missouri Crimestoppers.

     With a practice focused on litigation, Rick is admitted to practice before all Missouri trial courts as well as the Missouri Court of Appeals, the Missouri Supreme Court and the Federal District Courts in Missouri. He is a member of the Missouri Bar and the Cape Girardeau County Bar Association. Rick is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
